Hi everyone, I graduated with the class of 1983 and was sorry I didn't make it to the 25 year reunion.  Actually, the only one I made was the 10 year.  I currently live in Grasonville, MD on the Eastern Shore, am married, have two step-daughters, 1 grand daughter, 1 grandson and 2 dogs.  I work for the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection as a Mgmt. Program Analyst, and yes I still commute to DC everyday :-(  I really enjoyed looking at all the pics posted here; what a blast from the past.  Maybe I'll make the 30 year :-)

It was disappointing to have to miss the reunion. Looks like everyone had a great time. And now I have to miss the Green Turtle tonight. Would anyone be interested in doing a monthly thing at the Green Turtle? Maybe we could do the first Saturday of every month?

Rhonda (Meadows) Stuart & I have organize a happy hour at the Greene Turtle in Laurel on November 8th, 2008 at 5:30 until whenever.... This is very informal. There are no reservations. Just some old friends hanging at the bar! Stop by for a drink or three. If you missed the reunion, this could be your opportunity to see some old friends. Come alone, or bring a guest! Spread the word!
Hope to see you there!

Wow what a reunion. It is hard to believe that 25+ years have flown by. Thanks to Al and Jane Debbie Bragg and I made the reunion. I hadnt' been able to get to any of the other reunions as I was out of the area. Let's not let another 25 Years go by before we see each other again.
The picnic idea sounds good and something to raise money for equipment for the school or a scholarship for a current student at the school. Something to give back for the years that we had at high Point.

What a surprise!  I had a wonderful, wonderful time recapturing those precious moments from my youth.  It was an honor to see and spend time with everyone once again.   It meant so much to me...I even saw classmates from Ridgecrest Elementry, Powder Mill Elementry and Rollingcrest jr High...Now, that's going "WAY" back in the day, LOL.  I can't wait for the next reunion.  Thank you Corliss Adams for the heads-up.  Blessings to all of you.  Until next time....Cv

Wow,

I was speechless when Cheryl Cooper called me 2 days ago to let me know about the reunion.  I will not be able to get home to Maryland because of the short notice and I live in Florida.  I have not seen many of you in almost as many years.  Some of you may know that I married Jack Brown and that we are now divorced.  We started off as friends and I hope to remain that way because life is too short hang on to unimportant things.  I have two lovely young ladies Terre-Alise (23) who graduated from High Point in 2003 with honors.  After traveling to S. Korea to teach she has returned home to complete her Masters.  Can you say PROUD!  My youngest is 14 and in high school.  She is absolutely my minnie me.

I work as a counselor at Bethune-Cookman University working with first-year students.  Mainly life skill development.

If you don't do anything else VOTE and send your little darlings to college!

James Rowe gave me a shout out.  I didnt even realize many people even knew who I was.

I don't get home much these days.  I did have the chance to talk with Alan Coleman who is also living in Florida.  He seems to be doing well.  I sent him an email about the reunion.

The next reunion should be on a cruise.

Keep in touch and come down and visit.  pascale_m_brown@yahoo.com and 386 673-9440 or 386 898 2503.

Mike -- I am so glad you've posted and that you're coming to the reunion.  You were such a "force" back then and you still are.

Lisa F. is coming -- I'm very excited about that as I just received her registration tonight!  Tracy S. I hope comes, too.

I emailed Vernon Butler this evening and hopefully he'll respond.

Sondra has confirmed Frank Tracy's attendance and he "wouldn't miss it for the world."  He lost his wife this year as did Col. Vasliaidis so yes, friends, life is short.  We have already lost at too young an age many of our friends and classmates.

Susan Webb ('82) just registered as did Annette Harrington and Tony Policelli.  Kelly Nippes, Kelly Krick and Donna Deane -  '83 are also coming!  Keep 'em coming folks.

Hey anyone out there who knows people who are contemplating coming or not give em a call or shoot them an e-mail and tell them to come on and register to come. I had not been to a reuinon for 20 years  because one was during Jeff Baluvelts wedding and another was during Danny Bowmans wedding. I  had such a great time seeing people at the 20 year reunion and knowing they were okay. Life is short and one night of smiles and good memories flashing in your face for 4 hours feels pretty good.  Alot of us wont be able to be there because we already left this earth (RIP). Like I said earlier  lose the inhibitions or contemplations and shuck out the ducketts and come.
Tracy S and Lisa F, thanks for the e-mails ,I am glad you are both okay, it was great hearing from you and hope you both decide to come.

Hey to all the folks of 82 and 83, better late than never. Will be there and looking forward to seeing any old Blacksheep, any old team mates and classmates that are putting themselves out and attending. If you know someone and they are deciding to come or not tell them to throw their inhibitions aside and show up, it is good, even if only for one night to shake a hand, give a hug and know we are okay!

Dear friends and classmates:

I am deeply touched at the outpouring of support during this sensitive time and I do not know how to thank you all.  Most people are satisfied with one family.  I have several to give thanks for:  my friends like you that I grew up with; my family at the karate studio where I have been for 20 years; and the United States Army for the last 24 years of my life. You give me the highest honor I could ever hope to achieve and that is to be able to represent you and the United States of America as a Soldier.

All of you back home are the real Heroes and do not ever forget that. As Parents, Teachers, Doctors and so on you have to excel 24/7. I only have to be brave for a short period of time, then they pin a whole bunch of medals on your chest and you get to wear them for the rest of your life and get a free pass.

The lessons I have learned from people like you serve me far better than anything I have learned in the military. Thank you again so much from the bottom of my heart for your friendship through the years and your kind words.  And know this:  from Panama to Desert Storm to El Salvador, Korea, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, High Point Senior High was well represented.  God Bless You all.  It's time to get on that plane to Kuwait and then Iraq. Hope to here from you soon Scott.

HP Classmates:  I just received the following note from Scott Lewis (he was sending it from one of his soldier’s military accounts so that is why I did not simply forward the original email.)  Please, please drop Scott a line – as you’ll read, he’s leaving for Iraq this Wednesday.  I don’t know what your religious beliefs are but I believe in the power of prayer, and it would be awesome if on Wednesday, Sept. 10th we can all lift up Scott in our thoughts and prayers and send him one big collective, supernatural hug!

"Jane, sorry I have not gotten back to you I have had to deal with the death

of my father. My new email is sarge82644@yahoo.com. Please feel free to pass

it on as I leave for Iraq on 10 Sept. Would love to here from everybody. All

High Point Family ('82 and '83),

Much, much praise to the organizers of the HP '82 / '83 Reunion!  I'm so looking forward to the reunion, especially to see how "seasoned" we all have become!

When I first noticed the gray, I was like, "reality check."  Then, when I realized some of the gray wasn't there anymore, I was like, "gray ain't so bad after all!"

Hope all is well with you and yours!  See you at the reunion.

Hi everyone. Sorry that it's been awhile since I've signed the guest book. Real busy with three kids and back in school myself.

Most of you have all ready recieved an e-mail or phone call about the passing of my GREAT friend Karen Wege (class of 81'). I just wanted to spread the word in case there is someone I am missing that would like to come to the viewings.

I know we have a great time ahead of us in October, but wanted to take a moment to tell everyone how wonderful the last 38 years have been by having Wegie as a friend. Her free spirit and "I don't care" attitude will be greatly miss.

Please e-mail for arrangement info or just to say hi.

Karen loved coming to our class reunions more than her own. She was planning on attending again this year.

I am really looking forward to the reunion as I did not attend the last one. It just seems like yesterday we were all togeather.
I have 2 kids  from Toby as you all know that wild and crazy guy. He has not changed. Add 2 more kids from my current husband.
Yes I still have to worry about babysitters as they are still young. Can't wait to see everyone.

I had no doubt that you would be the lead on the class reunion.  I do
not know where you get the extra energy & time ... but I want to thank you
for all that you do.  I will be returning from Germany this summer after 4  years
abroad & will definitely be attending the reunion in October.  I think  that having the class of 82 & 83 together was an excellent idea.  I look  forward to seeing everyone, but it will be a bit different this time without  having Kathie Stoehr with me :-(

Tony!  Thank you and what a great compliment -- blushing over here!

Those other smart, beautiful & strong '83 female officers are:

Amy Frymark (President)
Noelle Lubbes (VP)
Cathleen Gianetti (Treasurer)
Christine Gianetti (Historian)

Chicks rock!  And, P.J. -- I remember first meeting you in drama class -- Mr. Wilder's class -- and you quoting from one of Shakespeare's plays -- something to the affect ... "What for they burn my baby?" and you said it with a twang in your voice!

Funny how silly things like that stick with us decades later.  :)

OK everyone...  Let's not let this Reunion past without making every effort to get classmates to attend this Dual 25th Silver Anniversary!

To ensure that this will be a great success, we need the support and participation of every classmate as possible from the Classes of '82 & '83!

I personally look forward to seeing everyone!

A major "Thank You" goes out to Jane (Quinton) Bonvillain for taking the lead on this major effort!

Thanks Jane for your initiative, vision and leadership!

Never question why all of our the Senior Officers from the Class of '83 were smart, beautiful, & strong women!!!!

Hi to everyone - It's that time again and I can't wait to see these two classes gathering together and sharing stories from our Beltsville connections. Thank you to all of your recent gratitude for putting together this reunion. For those of us on the '82 and '83 committees  we are all working together to make this reunion memorable. However, we all would like you to know how grateful we are to have Jane Quinton Bonvillain ('83). With her 20 year experience in conference/event planning, Jane has become this reunion's Event Coordinator. She is amazing at what she does and is making the planning of our reunion less stressful. However, I would not trade a moment with the '82 committee from our 20th - it was the most I had laughed in years, but we are even older and busier now and having Jane at the wheel is very comforting. So, Jane, from all of us - Thank You!!!!!!
